What is a nebuliser?
A nebuliser is a powered device designed to deliver medication to the lungs in the form of a fine mist.
There are two main types:
- JET nebuliser.
- Ultrasonic nebuliser.
Jet Nebuliser
The most commonly used nebuliser in the home is the JET nebuliser which uses air or oxygen to turn the medication from a liquid into a fine mist or aerosol vapour. This is then breathed in to the lungs.
Ultrasonic Nebuliser
Ultrasonic nebulisers use high frequency waves which vibrate and cause the liquid to become a fine mist.
