Testing for antibodies

Functional antibodies:
- These are antibodies against tetanus, haemophilus influenza type B and pneumococcal infections.
 - People who have been immunised should have normal levels of antibodies.
 - If there is a problem with the immune system or if the person has not been sufficiently vaccinated, these levels may be low.
 - Low levels mean there may be at risk of recurrent infections.

Aspergillus antibodies:
- Aspergillus is a common mould that can cause a wide range of lung conditions.
 - Checking for antibodies to this mould can help to diagnose aspergillus associated diseases and monitor response to treatment.
