  • A valve on the inhaler is activated as the patient breathes in.
  • Therefore the device only delivers the drug on inspiration.
  • The main benefit is that it avoids the need for patient to co-ordinate breathing and activation of the device.

Examples of breath activated aerosol inhalers are ;

  • Easi-Breathe®, Autohaler®
  • Only comes for salbutamol and beclometasone
