Error message

Warning: preg_match(): Allocation of JIT memory failed, PCRE JIT will be disabled. This is likely caused by security restrictions. Either grant PHP permission to allocate executable memory, or set pcre.jit=0 in drupal_valid_http_host() (line 743 of /var/www/respelearning/includes/bootstrap.inc).

Eyes

The person may open and close their eyes or they may remain closed as the near death.

What can you do?

The person may not be able to respond but may still hear a familiar voice or feel the touch of a loved one so talking to the person and holding their hand may be a comfort to both the dying person and the relative or carer.
If the eyes are dry, artificial tears can be prescribed to moisten the eyes and make them more comfortable. Care when cleaning around the person’s eyes to remove any deposits.
Remember to give the person their spectacles during periods when the person is awake so they can see visitors and staff.
