Information for carers
Learning outcomes
In this section you will learn to consider the impact of their illness on their family and informal carers.
Look for signs that carers may need help and where to access support and services.
Who are the carers?
A carer is anyone who provides support which the person with the long-term condition could not manage without. This support can be physical tasks such as washing and dressing, practical tasks such as making a meal or emotional support if the person is anxious or struggling to cope as a result of their illness.
Carers can be spouses, family, friends or neighbours.
